The Fuente-Gómez family, owners of the Camping, were always bakers and were famous for making the best bread in the region in their old wood oven, which is still working, baking bread daily. But, in addition, the family has always had a good relationship with the world of "Camping". More precisely, we should say with the world of camping, since 1975 in the land adjacent to the bakery and the small bar that the family has in Puente Asnil, the parish first San Francisco and then Scout Visitation of Santander, organized every summer a camp.

Hundreds of young people from Cantabria had their first contact with nature in that land surrounded by trees next to the Bullón river. Now that the parish no longer organizes camps, the family was encouraged to build a small campsite on the land that had been occupied so many times by tents.
Thus was born the "Camping Liébana", a quiet and familiar campsite, not very big, but with all the comforts.
